Hey Folks —

We did it! We successfully launched the STRANGER AT HOME crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo this morning.

Real launch time was about 7:15 AM (PDT) as opposed to 6AM as we’d planned. There’s a story about that, which involved a LOT of praying on my part — a lot of breathing exercises. I’ve written before that making a film is another kind of birthing process. Many stages of labor — one stage being the launch of a good fundraising campaign on-line.

I won’t lie to you — it’s nerve wracking until we know that everything that’s been designed is working properly — all the buttons you click on take you to where you’re supposed to go and it’s an easy & pleasant experience. Amazing technology once it’s all set and the campaign site goes public.

All to say —

We’re thrilled with the responses we’re getting! People are seeing and recognizing the total heart of this film project and expressing their hearts to us in words and donations. Our social media team — military wives — is working tirelessly to spread the word of the launch, and our first day of the campaign isn’t even over yet. We’re filled with gratitude. Yes, I’m an emotional Mother.

Now comes the next stage of labor — continuing to build on this successful start.

We need everyone’s help to do that. The best way is to visit our beautiful campaign site, take the whole “story” in, donate whatever you can and then share with others who care and want to make a difference, too.

I gotta tell ya —

On the campaign site, we’re featuring the poetry of writer and military wife, Melissa Comeau. She humbly asked us if we could use her work in any way to support the message of the film. We were blown away to read her poetry from her collection “Sleeping With The War” and we’re truly humbled and honored to share her heart & soul with you.

Elegance, dignity, respect — we promised you that in this campaign. Our veterans and their families deserve nothing less.

$300,000 in 50 days — that’s our fundraising goal to continue making our documentary STRANGER AT HOME.

Let’s keep rocking this for those who have given us so much.

All my love and thanks,
